"Hellraiser" is a 1987 horror film directed by Clive Barker, based on his own novella "The Hellbound Heart." When the box is opened by a man named Frank Cotton, he is subjected to unspeakable torment. After his brother Larry moves into their family's old home with his wife Julia, Frank's resurrected remains seek Julia's help to regain his former human state by luring victims for him to consume. As Julia's actions escalate, Larry's daughter Kirsty becomes entangled in a battle against the Cenobites and the dark forces they represent. The film delves into themes of desire, pleasure, pain, and the macabre, creating a chilling and disturbing narrative that has spawned a long-running horror franchise.
